Dalia Umanskiy

Speech Language Specialist, Hong Kong International School

Dalia Umanskiy received a Master’s Degree in Linguistics from Kaliningrad State University, Russia. A few years later she graduated from Adelphi University in New York with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, and became certified as a teacher of students with speech and language disabilities. Soon after this, Ms Umanskiy enrolled at the Bilingual Extension Institute at Teachers College, Columbia University (New York City), where she received a certificate in assessment and treatment of bilingual children. Since then she has been deeply interested in working with students and families from various cultural backgrounds.

Ms Umanskiy has worked in various clinical settings including rehabilitation centres, schools, and state/city-funded programs (including Early Intervention, Committee on Preschool Special Education), providing school, clinic, and home-based assessments and therapy. Since 2012 she has been practicing speech language pathology in Hong Kong. Currently she works as a speech language specialist at Hong Kong International School.


Ms Umanskiy is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed as a speech language pathologist in both New York and New Jersey.
